Digital Immigration Advising Tools for International University Students

In this P2P Promising Practice, International Student Development at the University of British Columbia (Vancouver Campus) provides an overview of digital tools manage a high volume of inquiries, and strategies to help international
students avoid common pitfalls:

"The aim of the Digital Immigration Advising Tools is to effectively and efficiently scale up the delivery of robust immigration advice on temporary resident immigration application procedures and policies."

Five tools have been developed:

  • An automatic online document expiry reminder system
  • A web-based International Student Guide
  • A series of step-by-step immigration application tutorials
  • A series of immigration application review courses
  • A customized web form as the main form of contact by streamlining inquiries and directing students to the various online tools
