What can be done to ensure low-income households can secure needed digital resources and reliable internet connectivity to excel during this trying time? What policy solutions can help enhance low-income communities’ access to quality internet?

This Language Advocacy Day panel focused on promising practices and lessons learned during the past year, including gaps and unaddressed issues, as well as the creation and distribution of effective multilingual information.

At the recent Metropolis conference, I was invited by World Education Services (WES) to participate on a panel looking at knowledge mobilization and knowledge management in the immigrant and refugee-serving sector. This panel highlighted the value of knowledge management and mobilization for informed decision-making within the settlement sector. Panelists discussed ways to balance knowledge mobilization while mitigating information fatigue, particularly as the pandemic has led to increased digital communication.

The coronavirus pandemic has illuminated the alarming digital divide in Canada. What needs to change? What type of funding will it take, and how can the philanthropic sector, business, and leaders in our communities, step up to close the digital divide?

February 22-28, 2021, was cybersecurity week in Scotland. There were many interesting events and knowledge sharing resources. Among them, the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) ran a number of nonprofit-focused workshops.

Learn about the opportunities and challenges of telemental health and e-Therapy from practicing social workers. Presenters Lauri Goldkind, Lea Wolf, Nickolas Davis, Caroline Artley discussed the nuances of building relationships via email, messaging and video as well as the differences between practicing on a direct to consumer telehealth platform versus other ways of reaching clients.

The Ontario Centre of Excellence for Child and Youth Mental Health (the Centre) and Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO) have compiled some useful resources, including Evaluating and improving e-mental health services. These 2 webinars share their findings and what they've learned.
