AMSSA Lecture: Francophone Immigration and Integration (webinar recording)

In this AMSSA Lecture: Francophone Immigration & Integration, Dr. Suzanne Huot discusses findings from her research:

  • Cultural encounters: Examining the role of community spaces in the participation of French-speaking immigrants and refugees in Vancouver
  • Determining community-based outcomes for successful integration of immigrants and refugees in Metro Vancouver’s Francophone minority communities, and
  • Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA): Fostering community cohesion in contexts of diversity.

Her recent research in Metro Vancouver highlights the particular challenges faced by French-speaking immigrants to British Columbia, with an emphasis on the role played by Francophone community spaces in their integration.
