Addressing Newcomers’ Digital Literacy Gaps and Facilitating their Integration through Digital Education (webinar recording)

This February 2025 Pathways to Prosperity session provided 3 presentations explored language courses and teacher training designed to promote digital inclusion and support Canadian newcomers’ settlement.

Presenters explored upskilling and reskilling newcomers’ digital skills through the ADaPT program, with an employer-centered approach. They discussed challenges employers face, tools for organizations, and resources for newcomers’ employment pathways. Toronto South Local Immigration Partnership (TSLIP) presenters shared insights and recommendations based on their recent report, Digital Literacy Gaps in the Newcomer Serving Sector. Avenue.ca presenters offered interactive resources to build digital skills for life and work.
