Putting aside the fact that the national call for proposals and resulting approval and implementation process was devastatingly chaotic, I found it useful to take a dive into the government of Canada's proactive disclosure site, focus on grants and contributions. I'm always curious about what gets funded when it comes to digital innovation, especially since many organizations don't immediately announce in a meaningful way that they've been funded and for what (kudos to The Immigrant Education Society (TIES) for at least creating an information page about their project).
Anyway.
Below are projects I found that are digitally/tech related, which might be of interest to you. The list is incomplete. It does not reflect tech innovation embedded within other larger grants, but is based on the limited keyword search you're able to do on the proactive disclosure site.
You can click on each link to find out more. But there is not much more. The "expected results" and "program purpose" fields are made up of generic boilerplate information from the call from proposals (you'll see the same blurbs if you click on the links). It would be useful, and probably quite easy, to add a program abstract or summary, since everyone proposal includes one. So, this field is not included below.
Programs are here based on their title, basically. The list is not presented in any particular order. Most programs are client-facing, some are sector capacity building. Some projects build on previous work (such as Refugee 613 and Ymca De La Région De La Capitale Nationale) and some are projects that have been funded for years, such as pre-arrival services (which have predominantly online service delivery approaches), Avenue, Tutela, and SettleNet.org.
