I was honoured to be asked to participate in the recent MPI Europe conference Social Innovation for Refugee Inclusion (SI4RI): Sowing Innovation in the Cracks of Crisis.

In May 2020, not long after frontline service providers moved services online, North York Community House (NYCH) held a couple of interesting and useful webinars. It was early days, but NYCH staff and leadership were learning some things, making progress. They decided to put themselves out there to share not only what they were learning, but also their struggles, and what they were learning.

In this session, presenters shared reflections on current challenges identified to date, facilitated an interactive discussion on the sector’s needs, and discussed how the sector can be strengthened to better support the success of immigrants and refugees.

This post comes out of an interesting LinkedIn post and I thought it is probably something others are starting to look into. I'm not a lawyer, nor an expert in this area, but it's an area that definitely intersects with the Settlement Sector & Technology Task Group final report.

In this webinar, U.S.-based EdTech Center @ World Education shared examples of innovative models, strategies, and resources in remote adult ESOL instruction and support services they identified over a 6 month period (prior to June 2021).

This webinar introduces and focuses on no-code/low-code technology development at the July 2021 Catalyst Network Meetup. This term refers to the use of a collection of apps to develop digital services, with no or minimal coding involved. That's right, you don't need to be a designer or coder anymore to build good stuff!
